Char Dham Yatra

CHAR DHAM YATRA

Access to the pilgrimage is either from Haridwar, Rishikesh or from Dehradun. The tradition is to visit the sites in the following order:

1. Yamunotri, the source of the Yamuna River and the head of the goddess Yamuna.
2. Gangotri, the source of the Ganges (River Ganga) and head of the goddess Ganga.
3. Kedarnath, where a form of the Hindu god Shiva is venerated as one of the twelve jyotirling.
4. Badrinath, the seat of the Hindu god Vishnu in his aspect of Badrinarayan.

These are four holy sites of India situated in Garhwal region. It is considered highly sacred by Hindus to visit Char Dham during  lifetime. Each place has its own legendary history.

Yamnouti is the second most holy river of India. It is believed that bathing in it cleanses all sins and protects from painful death. There are many hot water springs near the temple;
Surya Kund is the most important among them.

Devotees boil rice and potatoes in the kund and accept it as a Prasad of the Devi.

Gangotri Dham is dedicated to goddess Ganga. The river originates at Gaumukh.
Kedarnatha is the most remote pilgrimage, it is believed that it was built by Pandavas and was reconstructed in the 8 th century.

One of the 108 Divya Desams and one of the most Holy places in India. Adi Shankacharya found the idol of lord badri in Alaknanda River and put it up in a cave near the Tapt Kund.

Chardham Tour Package (10 days)

Day 01:

Our vehicle will pick you up from Haridwar and head towards Mussoorie and from there to Barkot, Phool chatti and jankichatti  (250km) (9/10  hrs)  Comfortable stay at night in a hotel.

Day 02:  Jankichatti to – Yamunotri (5km Trek)

Early in the morning after having breakfast leave Jankichatti, this trek leads you to first destination of Char Dham Yatra, reach Yamunotri, visit temple there and also take a holy Achman to start your most sacred pilgrimage to Char Dhams. Come back to Jankichatti in the evening then in the night stay at the hotel.

Day 03: Reaching Uttarkashi

After having breakfast, drive from Jankichatti – Uttarkashi (130 km) (6/7hrs) onyour journey don’t miss out on attractrions like Parkateshwar caves. In the evening visit Vishwanath temple, Kandar devta, Aadi sakti temple at Uttarkashi, spend most of your time here. After that enjoy your stay at hotel.

Day 04: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and back. (109km) (5/6hrs)

Drive of109 km. Gangotri is a very sacred place situated on the bank of Bhagirathi River. On the way Gangotri is a beautiful place with hot water springs where tourists take bath and enjoy. It is the place where Raja Bhagirathi observed hard pinance and pleased god Shankar to bring Gangaji on the earth and obliged his sixty thousand ancesters. It is believed that one dip in pious Ganga washes all the sins of a yatrik. Leave for Uttarkashi in the evening and stay at a hotel in night.

Day 05: Base at Picturesque Guptkashi

Early in the morning visit Ganga Arti perform Puja –see full view Maa Ganga, take a dip in the sacred river and return to hotel and have your breakfast. Drive to Shrinager / Guptkashi, Gupkashi is a small town which offers a view of Chaukhamba Peak, at night accommodate in a Hotel.

Day 06: Trek to Kedarnath

After breakfast drive from Guptkashi to Gaurikund by taxi (22km) on same day trek to – Kedarnath (09km) the distance from Gaurikund are as follows: Gaurikund to Jangal Chatti is 04 kms, Gaurikund to Bheembali is 06 kms, Gaurikund to Rambara is 07 kms and Gaurikund to Kedarnath is Gaurikund, Trek starts from gaurikund to kedarnath (3548m) on foot or on by pony/doli. Witness the natural beauty of the place and spirituality in the air. Then at night stay at the vicinity of the temple.

Day 07: Spend time at Kedarnath

Take some rest at Kedarnath – explore places and spend some time around kedarnath temple, enjoy the enticing views and spirituality it will brighten you up, the climate there is soothing. Spend some time there calm and relax yourself then return back to the hotel and at night stay there.

Day 08

Kedarnath to Gaurikund by trek (9km) and to Guptkashi. From Kedarnath to Gaurikund by trek which is of 9 km and on same day drive to Guptkashi.

Day 09:  Guptkashi to pandukesar and then Badrinath.

Early morning reach pilgrims after having a bath in the tap kund have darshan and puja of
badrivishal. Brahamakamal is significant for pinddan shraddh of ancestors (pitrus). There are other interesting sightseeing spot like mana, vyas gufa,maatamoorti, charanpaduka,bhimkund and the "mukh" of the saraswati River just within the three kms of badrinathjee later drive back to rudraprayag and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 10

Rudraprayag – Haridwar via Rishikesh (160kms/7hrs)
