Mt. Bhagirathi II Expedition (6,512m lies in .Gangotri national park in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.

Mt. Bhagirathi II Expedition (6,512 Meters)

The Bhagirathi group of 3 peaks is located in the Gangotri Valley of Garhwal Himalayas in the state of Uttarakhand, India. The peaks rise right above the Gangotri glacier and the river Bhagirathi(which is later known as the Ganga) that flows underneath and emerges out of Gaumukh (the source of the Ganga). The region abounds in spiritual energy and also offers the right mix of challenges and adventure to both trekkers and mountaineers. Negotiating the Gangotri glacier is no mean task as it is full of crevasses and the glacier changes its nature very frequently. All 3 peaks have the same Base Camp.

It is close to the other stalwart peaks of Thalay Sagar, Shivling and Meru. Nandanvan is a beautiful meadow speckled with the alpine flowers.
