The trek to Dayara bugyal total distance is 15 Km, Bakariya top, Suriya top and is a normal step ascend till Barnala. we pass through the beautiful landscape of laced of Rhododendrons, forest cover of Silver Oaks, Deodar. Barnala is a place from where the famed meadow of Dayara starts. the miles of green undulating meadows stretching as far as your eye can see are a beautiful sight.

Why Dayara Bugyal Trek ?

The Dayara ridges can be seen right from the lawns of at Barsu. It is an easy-moderate climb with some stiff edges in between. Barnala, a small meadow, is on top of the first ridge. Take the pathway that goes beside the wall of the  Passing the village fields.

The fields give way to trees within ten minutes of the climb. The trees, a mix of local deciduous varieties, oak and rhododendron, create a beautiful mix of colors when their leaves glisten in the morning sun. The trail to the high alpine meadow!

Dayara Bugyal is through the Barnala meadows. The landscape is picturesque and the dense forests lend a sneak peek of the greater Himalayas. As you end the ascend at Dayara, the vast meadow unfolds in front of you. The meadow is like a tabletop as you set foot on the meadow the sight of the mighty Himalayas surrounds you. Srikanth, Rudregaira, Gangotri I, II & III, Jaonli, Draupadi ka Danda I & II, Black peak, Bandarpunch, and many other unnamed peaks are visible from Dayara Bugyal meadow. Overnight stay in camps. Dayara Bugyal is often placed at the top position only to be hotly contested and pushed to the next best. But there is no debate amongst trekkers that Dayara Bugyal would fall within the two most beautiful high altitude meadows in India. It is not difficult to see why. For hundreds of years, shepherds from far have been taking their flock to graze at Dayara.

Amongst all the treks in Uttarakhand, Dayara Bugyal is considered to be the most
breathtaking. The trek brings us to a highland meadow situated in the Uttarkashi district of
Uttarakhand which stands tall at an elevation of 10,000-12,500ft. The route of the Dayara.

Take an overnight train to Dehradun from Delhi. New Delhi-Dehradun A/C special train from New Delhi station is the best option. The train reaches Dehradun at 5.40 am. If you Meet to our office member and drive to Barsu camp.

By Air

Jolly Grant Airport is the airport serving Dehradun, located about 25 km from the city. There is a daily flight from Delhi to Dehradun.

By Bus

There is regular bus service from Delhi to Dehradun, from Delhi, ISBT Kashmere Gate.

We would suggest you take only government buses from ISBT Kashmere Gate. Private buses ply from outside ISBT and they do not trust worthiness.

Usually, buses drop you at Dehradun ISBT. From there you have to come to Dehradun Railway Station to meet us railway station at 6:30 Am.

Short Itinerary

Day 01 – Pickup to you from Dehradun Railway station drive to Barsu (1956 Meters) 278km, 6 Hours drive night stay in camp/ guest house.

Day 02 – Barsu to Barnala tal by Trek (4 Km (3/4hrs) (2800, Meters ) overnight stay in tents

Day 03 – Barnala Tal –to Dayara Bugyal Explore the Alpine Meadow (4km) by Trek.)(3/4hrs) (3400, Meters ) Over night stay in tents

Day 4 – Dayara Bugyal to Bakaria Top (12000 feet)3 Km 3/4 Hours , back to dayara Bugyal night stay in tents

Day 5 – Dayara Bugyal to Barsu camp (7500 feet .) 8 Km, 5 Hours trek

Day 06- Barsu to Dehradun by taxi ( 178 Km.) (7/8hrs)

Dayara Bugyal Trek Details Itinerary

Day 1 – Pick up to you from Dehradun Railway station drive to Barsu (7545 ft) 220kms, 67/8 hrs drive night stay in camp/ guest house

Meet us Dehradun Drive to Barsu camp which is a day long journey. We pass through the towns of Dehradun railway Station .Mussoorie Uttarkashi. Gangori . on the see Their Jhil and Barsu is a small village about 31 Km from Uttarkashi and is on the way to Gangothri. The drive to Barsu from Uttarkashi is along with Bhagirathi river. Barsu is the base camp for Dayara Bugyal trek, Overnight stay at Barsu in a guest house.

Day 2- Barsu camp to Barnala tal by Trek (4 Km (3/4 Hours ) (2800 Meters ) overnight stay in tents

The trek to barnala tal total distance is 4 Km, . Trek is a gradual ascend landscaped beautifully with Rhododendrons, Silver . Deodar forests. Reach the destination for the day which is Barnala at an elevation of 8,530 ft. It is this place which marks the beginning of the famed undulating stretches of green prairies or ‘ Bugyals’. Set up your campsite at this ideal location and retire here for the night. On arrival after short break star your trek for Barnala Tal ., the trail gradually steep up passing green rich forest, panoramic view of Gangotri Himalayan range .Overnight to Barnala camp at tent !

Day 03 – Barnala Tal –to Dayara Bugyal Explore the Alpine Meadow (4 km ) by Trek.)(03 Hours ) (3400, Meters) Overnight stay in tents

Breakfast at the camp the start trek for Dayara 03/ Km steep up climbing passing beautiful alpine meadows local name Bugiyal 02 hours on arrival check camp. This day entails an ascending trek of about 5 Km to the high alpine meadow of Dayara Bugyal, Uttarakhand that is elevated at 9,980 ft through the Barnal grasslands. On arriving this vast meadow that resembles a table top.

If you can catch sight of some majestic Surrounding beautiful peaks, namely Srikanth, Rudregaira, Gangotri I, II & III, Jaonli, Draupadi ka Danda I & II, Black peak, Bandarpunch and such. Spend the night in the camp set up here.
We provide to you today Hot lunch at the camp Dayara. After Lunch Visit The Beautiful alpine bugyal famous place ski adventure sports, and Height gain of Bakriya pass From Pass You can see The Both side View Of Beautiful Himalayan range of Gangotri and Yamunotri Himalayan range, Dinner & Overnight at the camp Dayara at tent.

Day 4 – Rest Days Explore Dayara Bugyal to Bakaria Top (12000 ft) 3 Km 3/4 hrs, back to dayara Bugyal night stay in tents

Today We are going to Bakaria Top is the highest point of Dayara Bugyal, a steep ascent to Bakaria top. Dayara Bugyal is divided into many small bugyals and Bakaria top and suriya top is one of them. We start trek along the meadows and gain altitude gradually till we reach Bakaria Top. The views from the top take your breath away. Snow Covered mountains, Valley deep below.

Day 5 – back to Dayara Bugyal to Barsu camp (7500 t .) 8 Km, 6-7 hours trek

Today come down to barsu camp with packed lunch We begin our descent to barsu camp The trail takes around 6 to 7 hours , with a few ascends in between. We walk through the vast stretches of the alpine meadows and the sub alpine forests and small spiralling rivulets.

The small grassland situated in between the alpine forests. The inner dry valleys, dwarf rhododendrons grow along with patches of grasslands near the campsite. This last day of Dayara Bugyal trekking, it involves descending down to Barsu .

Day 06 : After breakfast from Barsu to Dehradun by taxi ( 178km.) (7/8hrs).

What to carry on a Trek?

The most common question of all Trekkers is what we carry on a trek or what to carry on a trek so if you plan to go for trekking, so here is about what you should carry on a trek ..!

First of all trekkers must bring the documents mentioned below

1. Government ID proof, carry original and a photocopy of any of these (Driving License, Adhar Card, Pan Card, Voter Id, etc.)

2. Medical certificate by a doctor

3. Risk certificates

Foremost Requirements

1. Strongly built Trekking Shoes

2. Backpack (50 to 60 liters)

Clothes to Carry On A Trek

Carry clothes according to the season. In winters there is chilly cold and in summers the temperature remains cold. (Day and Night temperature varies)


Take at least 2 jackets with you, it should be warm enough to protect you against the chilly cold.

Trekking Pants

You should have 2 3 trek pants on a week-long trek and take more for longer treks.


At night the temperature lowers and to keep yourself warm and sleep comfortably wear thermals.

Warm clothes

Keep enough woolen layers and fleece according to the season.


To avoid sunburns always carry full-sleeved t-shirts which dry easily and covers neck and arms properly.


They are useful during rain and snowfall.

(Avoid using wet wipes and sanitary napkins during your trek because they are not biodegradable and cause harm to the environment. If you use them in the mountains make sure you bring them back with you.)

(Use medicines only after prescribed by the doctor) (In case of any problem arises during the trek follow the instructions given by your trek leader because they are certified in First Aid Mountaineering courses.)
