Getting base camp – Sankri (From where the Fachu kandi pass trek starts) is one of the most picturesque drives in the Himalayas through Dehradun , Mussoorie, Nainbag, Damta, Nawgano , Purola, Mori, Netwar, Sankri along the Tons River ., kedarkantha , Sarutal , Fachu kandi pass , trek is one the easiest treks.

Day 2: Sankri to by Juda ka Talab to Kedarkantha base camp (08 km) (4/5hours) (3400. Meters) over night stay in camp

Fachu kandi pass trek is a high altitude pass located at 4589, Meters in Western Garhwal. Himalayas The Lake is visited annually by local village, Starting point Saur and our village sankri folk who consider the Lake as sacred.

This trek is predominately a ridge walk over long Kedar kantha bugyal and dunda bugyal, Taloti, Pushtara, meadow stretches offering wide views of the Gangotri peaks.
Swargarohini – I, II, III, (6300, Meters) Bandarpoonch (6300 Meters ) and Blackpeak (6387, Meters ) , Dhumdarkandi pass, Borsu pass, Fhachukandi pass, Peaks in the distance .The local folk refer to Fachukandi pass as the 1st Dham Yamuna maa with the other’s being .Another reason for referring to Saru Tal as the Dev Dham is that this is the only location from where you can see all .dev Asthal The trek starts from Sankri and over the first 3 days of the trek the trail climbs over the peak of Kedar Kantha (3812 Meters ) which is a well known peak in the region and offers wide views of the area. Over the After visiting the sarutal Lake rather than retracing steps back there is an option of crossing the Fachu Kandi Pass ( 4589 Meters ) and walking to Hanuman Chetti which is the road head for pilgrims heading to the Yumnotri temple And Jankichatti

Key Points about this trek:
– Level: Difficult (so first timers should avoid)
– Proper conditioning & training of body required
– Need proper gear & clothing for sub-zero temperatures
– Shoes are the single most important equipment
– High Altitude requires proper acclimatization
– Post monsoon or pre-monsoon is the best time. During rains the region is prone to landslides
– Phones don’t work
– Beautiful landscape so carry good photo gear (I couldn’t carry my best equipment)
– Travel light (my backpack was heavy at about 12 kg)
– Keep an extra day in your itinerary for .account for bad weather
ATM Point & Mobile connectivity:-
Sankri is the last point where you will receive mobile network. Only Vodaphone and BSNL so ensure you finish your important telephone calls here. Inform anxious family members about poor connectivity during the trek.
Dehradun, city is also where you will find the last ATM in case you need to withdraw money before starting the trek Journey.
Getting to the base camp HPMA – office and Hotel Sankri
Take an overnight train to Dehradun from Delhi. New Delhi-Dehradun A/C special train from New Delhi station is the best option. The train reaches Dehradun at 5.40 am. If you Meet to our office member and drive to Sankri base camp office Har-ki-dun Road Sankri.
Jolly Grant Airport is the airport serving Dehradun, located about 25 km from the city. There is a daily flight from Delhi to Dehradun
Note:- Bangalore to Dehradun Flight Available & Delhi to Dehradun
There is regular bus service from Delhi to Dehradun, from Delhi, ISBT Kashmere Gate.
We would suggest you to take only government buses from ISBT Kashmere Gate. Private buses ply from outside ISBT and they are not trust worthiness.
Usually buses drop you at Dehradun ISBT. From there you have to come to Dehradun Railway Station meet us railway stion 6:30 Am
