It lies on a traditional shepherd and hiking rout which starts from Dhaula in Uttarakhand and ends in Sangla in Himachal Pradesh. The Rupin Pass is usually devoid of snow post monsoon, though snow patches exists. Intermittent snow fall happen in bursts three or four times in October, though the snow doesn’t last for long. It gets very cold in the last half of October.Multiple trails join your path and some go away from it. If you come to two trails that look alike and you want to make a choice, it doesn’t matter. All of them lead to Sangla Kanda. Only, avoid the trails that head down to the river.
