Welcome to you Dayara Bugyal trek -Trek In Uttarakhand (India) – The best Summer trek in the Himalayas .(Uttarakhand)

The trek to Dayara bugyal total distance is 15 Km, Bakariya top , Suriya top and is a normal
step ascend till Barnala. We pass through the beautiful landscape of laced of Rhododendrons, forest cover of Silver Oaks, Deodar. Barnala is a place from where the famed meadow of Dayara starts. The miles of green undulating meadows stretching as far as your eye can see are a beautiful sight.

Dayara Bugyal Trek Details Itinerary

 

Day 1 – Pick up to you from Dehradun Railway station drive to Barsu (7545 ft) 220kms, 67/8 hrs drive night stay in camp/ guest house

Meet us Dehradun Drive to Barsu camp which is a day long journey. We pass through the towns of Dehradun railway Station .Mussoorie Uttarkashi. Gangori . on the see Their Jhil and Barsu is a small village about 31 Km from Uttarkashi and is on the way to Gangothri. The drive to Barsu from Uttarkashi is along with Bhagirathi river. Barsu is the base camp for Dayara Bugyal trek, Overnight stay at Barsu in a guest house.

 

Day 2- Barsu camp to Barnala tal by Trek (4 Km (3/4 Hours ) (2800 Meters ) overnight stay in tents

The trek to barnala tal total distance is 4 Km, . Trek is a gradual ascend landscaped beautifully with Rhododendrons, Silver . Deodar forests. Reach the destination for the day which is Barnala at an elevation of 8,530 ft. It is this place which marks the beginning of the famed undulating stretches of green prairies or ‘ Bugyals’. Set up your campsite at this ideal location and retire here for the night. On arrival after short break star your trek for Barnala Tal ., the trail gradually steep up passing green rich forest, panoramic view of Gangotri Himalayan range .Overnight to Barnala camp at tent !

 

Day 03 – Barnala Tal –to Dayara Bugyal Explore the Alpine Meadow (4 km ) by Trek.)(03 Hours ) (3400, Meters) Overnight stay in tents

Breakfast at the camp the start trek for Dayara 03/ Km steep up climbing passing beautiful alpine meadows local name Bugiyal 02 hours on arrival check camp. This day entails an ascending trek of about 5 Km to the high alpine meadow of Dayara Bugyal, Uttarakhand that is elevated at 9,980 ft through the Barnal grasslands. On arriving this vast meadow that resembles a table top.

If you can catch sight of some majestic Surrounding beautiful peaks, namely Srikanth, Rudregaira, Gangotri I, II & III, Jaonli, Draupadi ka Danda I & II, Black peak, Bandarpunch and such. Spend the night in the camp set up here.
We provide to you today Hot lunch at the camp Dayara. After Lunch Visit The Beautiful alpine bugyal famous place ski adventure sports, and Height gain of Bakriya pass From Pass You can see The Both side View Of Beautiful Himalayan range of Gangotri and Yamunotri Himalayan range, Dinner & Overnight at the camp Dayara at tent

 

Day 4 – Rest Days Explore Dayara Bugyal to Bakaria Top (12000 ft) 3 Km 3/4 hrs, back to dayara Bugyal night stay in tents

Today We are going to Bakaria Top is the highest point of Dayara Bugyal, a steep ascent to Bakaria top. Dayara Bugyal is divided into many small bugyals and Bakaria top and suriya top is one of them. We start trek along the meadows and gain altitude gradually till we reach Bakaria Top. The views from the top take your breath away. Snow Covered mountains, Valley deep below.

 

Day 5 – back to Dayara Bugyal to Barsu camp (7500 t .) 8 Km, 6-7 hours trek

Today come down to barsu camp with packed lunch We begin our descent to barsu camp The trail takes around 6 to 7 hours , with a few ascends in between. We walk through the vast stretches of the alpine meadows and the sub alpine forests and small spiralling rivulets.

The small grassland situated in between the alpine forests. The inner dry valleys, dwarf rhododendrons grow along with patches of grasslands near the campsite. This last day of Dayara Bugyal trekking, it involves descending down to Barsu .

 

Day 06 : After breakfast from Barsu to Dehradun by taxi ( 178km.) (7/8hrs)

 

Why Dayara Bugyal Trek ?

The Dayara ridges can be seen right from the lawns of  at Barsu. It is an easy-moderate climb with some stiff edges in between. Barnala, a small meadow, is on top of the first ridge. Take the pathway that goes beside the wall of the  Passing the village fields.

The fields give way to trees within ten minutes of the climb. The trees, a mix of local deciduous varieties, oak and rhododendron, create a beautiful mix of colors when their leaves glisten in the morning sun. The trail to the high alpine meadow !

Dayara Bugyal is through the Barnala meadows. The landscape is picturesque and the dense forests lend a sneak peak of the greater Himalayas. As you end the ascend at Dayara, the vast meadow unfolds in front of you. The meadow is like a table top as you set foot on the meadow the sight of the mighty Himalayas surrounds you. Srikanth, Rudregaira, Gangotri I, II & III , Jaonli, Draupadi ka Danda I & II, Black peak, Bandarpunch and many other unnamed peaks are visible from Dayara Bugyal meadow. Overnight stay in camps.Dayara Bugyal is often placed at the top position only to be hotly contested and pushed to the next best. But there is no debate amongst trekkers that Dayara Bugyal would fall within the two most beautiful high altitude meadows in India. It is not difficult to see why. For hundred of years shepherds from far have been taking their flock to graze at Dayara.

Amongst all the treks in Uttarakhand, Dayara Bugyal is considered to be the most
breathtaking. The trek brings us to a highland meadow situated in the Uttarkashi district of
Uttarakhand which stands tall at an elevation of 10,000-12,500ft. The route of the Dayara .

Barsu camp . which is located on the confluence of the Ganga valley River at Barsu right side a small village Barsu so looking four nice view for Himalayas and . Evening time which is a good time after sneaks lookout sun setting on the greater beautiful Mountain range.

 

Beautiful Camp site
The Dayara bugyal trek campsite is great for birding and surrounded by beautiful snow peaks. Bakriya top and dayara bugyal makes for a terrific trek in virgin snow, with pretty campsites and astonishingly wide clearings in the forests.

 

Getting to the base camp HPMA Camp at barsu
Take an overnight train to Dehradun from Delhi. New Delhi-Dehradun A/C special train from New Delhi station is the best option. The train reaches Dehradun at 5.40 am. If you Meet to our office member and drive to Barsu camp.

By Air
Jolly Grant Airport is the airport serving Dehradun, located about 25 km from the city. There is a daily flight from Delhi to Dehradun.

By Bus
There is regular bus service from Delhi to Dehradun, from Delhi, ISBT Kashmere Gate.

We would suggest you to take only government buses from ISBT Kashmere Gate. Private buses ply from outside ISBT and they are not trust worthiness.

Usually buses drop you at Dehradun ISBT. From there you have to come to Dehradun Railway Station meet us railway stion 6:30 Am.

 

Key Points about this trek:
– Level: Easy (so first timers should avoid)
– Proper conditioning & training of body required
– Need proper gear & clothing for sub-zero temperatures?
– Shoes are the single most important equipment
– High Altitude requires proper acclimatization
– Post monsoon or pre-monsoon is the best time. During rains the region is prone to landslides
– Phones don’t work
– Beautiful landscape so carry good photo gear (I couldn’t carry my best equipment)
– Travel light (my backpack was heavy at about 12 kg)
– Keep an extra day in your itinerary for crossing the pass to account for bad weather

  1. Original and photocopy of government photo identity card- ( Adhar Card, driving license, voters ID, etc.)
  2. Medical Certificate (first part to be filled by a doctor and second part by the trekker)

Participants must bring:
Sturdy hiking boots:

preferably all leather upper as it provides better ankle support. If you do not own a pair yet, it is advisable that you buy one as soon as possible & wear it often so that they are well broken. This will help prevent blisters.

  1. Light weight tennis shoes/sandals: for wearing in camp.
  2. Wool socks: 2 pairs: preferably thick wool socks.
  3. Nylon socks: 2-3 Pairs, of the type you wear daily to be worm under the wool socks to prevent blister.
  4. Hiking shirt: 1 Preferably long sleeve
  5. Long John top: 1 also known as thermal underwear, preferably wool to be worm as first layer.
  6. Warm shirts & pants for camp: 1 each
  7. Rain cot 1 each
  8. Warm Jacket: 1
  9. Wool gloves: 1 pairs as thick as available in the market.
  10. Long John bottoms: Preferably wool to be worm as first layer.
  11. Under wear: 2-3 changes
  12. Hiking shorts / pants: 1
  13. Sun hat: Cotton or nylon.
  14. Sun Glasses:Preferably with an anchor
  15. Sun Protection Lotion: optional
  16. Lip balm/chap stick: optional
  17. Water bottle: 2 Bottles of 1 Liter capacity (Pepsi bottles work well) please insure that they do not leak.
  18. Head lamp / flashlight:  Preferably a headlamp as it leaves your hands free to work please bring extra batteries.
  19. Toilet articles: Tooth brush, Tooth Paste  etc
  20. Packet Knife : Optional

It is wise to make your booking at least two months in advance. In the event of cancellation of trek/adventure activity services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reasons we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, andcancellation charges would be as follows.

Up to 24 Days: 95% of Trek/adventure program cost will be refund.

Between 14-24 Day: 70% of Trek/adventure program cost will be refund.

Between 14-10 Days: 50% of Trek/adventure program cost will be refunded.

Less than 10 Days:No refund

Backpack carrying:   

H.P.M.A expects all trekkers to carry their own backpacks. If for some reason a trekker is unable to carry his or her backpack, he/she can offload the backpack to the H.P.M.A office by paying a charge of Rs 300 per backpack per day. . This money has to be paid to H.P.M.A office … (last moment arrangements are difficult and expensive).

Fitness:   

An high altitude trek in the Himalayas requires considerable fitness. Your body needs to train itself to process more work with lower levels of oxygen. Therefore, on treks, cardiovascular training is critically important. You need to be able to jog a distance of 4.5 km in 30 mins before start of the trek. Unable to do so can make your trek difficult. In addition, preparation of trek needs to include strength and flexibility training. Trekkers who have not adequately prepared may be asked to discontinue the trek at any point.
